Aberdeen – A sci-fi musical memoir

In 2007, Matt Sheehy (Lost Lander, EL VY) took a job as a forester in the dark, rain soaked logging town of Aberdeen on the Washington state coast. His plan was to disappear into the woods and escape his failed attempts at love and at life as a professional musician. But things take a turn toward the very strange after an eccentric local man named Andy Flood reveals a dark secret and a mysterious corpse. Aberdeen quickly leaves him struggling to make sense of the fundamental nature of the universe and his place in it. In the words of Flood, “Aberdeen isn’t a place. It’s a thing that happens to you”.

ABERDEEN is a sci-fi musical memoir that spans the last decade of Matt’s musical life. On Thursday 1st June he’ll be presenting this rock concert-with-a-narrative at the hotel, together with projections from animator Stefan Nadelman (Montage of Heck, Long Strange Trip).
