Tom Adams Returns
We’re very happy to be welcoming Tom Adams back to the hotel next Tuesday evening. We first met Tom almost three years ago during a concert in our courtyard on a warm June night. Nils Frahm was presenting his new bespoke piano called the Una Corda, and after his performance invited any musicians in the audience to come on stage and try the piano for themselves. Tom accepted his invitation, and what followed was a rather special performance.
Tom was subsequently signed up to Nil’s management who then introduced him to his current record label. Tom was back at the hotel in March last year as one of the 21 artists who took part in our 24 Hours Piano to celebrate Piano Day. You can see part of his performance here at around the 30-minute mark.
Tom’s music is characterised by expansive melodies alongside spellbinding falsetto. He produces tactile electro-acoustic arrangements which have won him many fans, including Mary Anne Hobbs of BBC 6Music, who described his music as “just beautiful”. Of his debut full-length album Silence, released this Friday, NPR said “A hypnotic piece of perfection showcasing Adams’ tender precision and fluttering falsetto”
We’re looking forward to celebrating the release of Tom’s album with him next week. From 7 pm Tuesday 9th May. Please feel warmly invited.
