Bar Food Friday: Wild Food & Natural Wine
Next Friday evening (22nd April), the kitchen takes over the bar again for the next instalment of Bar Food Friday. Alan creates small dishes using local produce, and Dominic picks the booze to go along with them. This month it’s all about wild food and natural wine.
We’re lucky to work with some fantastic suppliers whose produce we use in the restaurant on a daily basis. The quality of the meat, fish and vegetables they deliver to us is clear when preparing, cooking, and of course eating this food. And now we’re bringing it to the bar on Friday.
There’ll be wild oysters from the Zeeland coast care of Baaf and Roel from Küstlichkeiten at Markthalle Neun. Guido the hunter from Richard’s Wild will be delivering to us roe deer and wild boar from the woodlands of Brandenburg. And we’ll be featuring herbs from Roberto Vena’s Wild Gardener Farm, 35km north of Berlin. Dominic has selected some natural wines to accompany each dish.
Here’s the menu:
Zeeland Oysters, Wine Vinegar, Wild garlic 3€
Roe Deer Tartare, Peas, Mint, Apple 8€
Grilled Asparagus, Smoked Almonds, Truffle, Herbs 7€
Cured Wild Boar ‘ Cheese on Toast’ € 6
Things will get going at around 6 pm, and food will be available until 10 pm. Feel warmly invited.
