My Brightest Diamond: Tiki Taka Half-Time Show #2
Showtime: Tuesday (24 June), 8 pm
Shara’s magical performances are hypnotic, like a mythical creature, reminiscent of an elf, a mermaid or a shaman. Her show is the ritual of an extremely feminine spiritual guide, leading us as if through a foggy dream. The music is an experimental extension of her soul, impossible to define or to contain in the borders of the singular art of music. Her hairstyle, her clothing, the masks used during the performances, her way of moving and her mystical voice: she brings theatrical conceptual art and music all together.
The new album This Is My Hand will be released on the 16th of September on Sufjan Steven’s label Asthmatic Kitty Records. It was recorded in Berlin, NY, LA and her hometown of Detroit and was produced by Zac Rae.
It feels like the album was following Shara’s footprints around the world. The new feature of the album’s style is an “ army” of percussive sounds: drums, bells, synths, and brasses.
As she said, “I loved the communal quality and the way that drums and horns travel in large three-dimensional spaces”. Isn’t it poetry?
