Upcoming Friday Alex und Yona are playing their favorite records at the Hotel from 10 pm – 2 am. They have four things in common. The love for electronic disco music, the FC Barcelona, the Michelbergerhotel and Leah. It happened on November 2009 on the 24th, Alex from Barcelona had just started to work at the Michelberger Reception, when Yona from Israel visited Berlin for 6 days. He asked for the way to Alexanderplatz and he, like every second guest, immediately fell in love with our korean receptionist Leah. He tried to invite her for a drink, a dinner, an excursion, but Leah kept on saying “maby”, which Yona identified right as ” the women’s way to say they don’t want to”. But in contrast to all the other guests Yona was endurant and patient, alex saw him skulking around the reception the whole week. In the end Yona left Berlin with Leahs Email in his pocket and after lots of letters, phone calls and visits he came back with a big suitcase, rented a flat and stayed. The Korean Princess and Yona from Israel are still in love in Berlin and our favorite spanish receptionist became their best friend. Yona tries to explain: “Might sound weird but I think, we just speak the same language.”
