Lift Off Episode 10 – Priscilla Telmon & ‘Vincent Moon’
Explorers of the poetry at heart of personal and collective rituals, Priscilla and Mathieu ‘Vincent Moon’ Saura sweep us up in a whirl of sensory experiences through cinema and music. They came to town and bring a bag full of films, the most prominent: PEOPLE, a 80min musical documentary made during the creation of the PEOPLE FESTIVAL 2018. Moon journeyed through the weeklong residency with his camera in hand and unlimited access to the making off of this artist collaboration – from Leslie Feist to Damien Rice, from Efterklang to Shara Nova, from the Dessners (The National) to Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), from Erlend Øye (Kings of Convenience) to Zach Condon (Beirut), from Woodkid to Henning May (Annenmaykantereit), a behind the scenes document of a unique kind.
HEALING CINEMA
Priscilla Telmon and Mathieu ‘Vincent Moon’ Saura took over the Hotel for a special experience – a day exploring the possibilities of cinema and healing, modern rituals and experimental art forms. From intimate sessions during the day to a live music + cinema experience at night, from their feature film ‘Híbridos, the Spirits of Brazil’ to multiple documentaries on rituals around the planet, from a multiscreen installation to a talk on trances in the digital age… a surreal experience unveiled, between sonic bath, experimental cinema and meditative space.
Lift Off is a series of dialogues, hosted from Michelberger’s courtyard in Berlin. We engage in discussions with people who offer an outlook, a way forward, by example and by knowledge. People who are reflective, confident and clear. Who are ready, have practices, ideas and solutions, ready to shape what comes next. Connecting and bridging people that offer lighthouses to their communities and beyond.
