Copenhaven Report

Some magic happened last weekend in Copenhagen. A part of the hotel and the monkey team banded together to explore the HAVEN Festival. Equipped with super duper bikes the journey through the city began with a wonderful dinner Thursday evening and some nice drinks at the temporary HAVEN Bar in the heart of the city. Strengthened by a huge breakfast the first festival day started with an exceptional opening: The PEOPLE Mixtape (Big Red Machine). Justin, Matt, Jan, Bryce & Aaron fascinated the audience and managed to captivate everybody’s imagination in the first thirty festival minutes. What a start… from there on it all felt like a dream. From a rock’n’rolling Iggy Pop, hypnotizing Beach House, lovely This is the Kit, When Saints Go Machine and Feist over an impressive and very emotional performance by our dear friends Andi & Jan from Mouse on Mars to the grand finale with Bon Iver and The National on Saturday Evening. An unforgettable music experience – always accompanied by really bad weather, very good food and of course our coconut water! Over the whole weekend, the spark that started last October at our Michelberger Festival in the Funkhaus became more and more a burning flame, carried especially by Justin & the Dessners over both days in recurring little guest appearances on all stages. It was true magic!
