Live in the Lobby: Tommy Wá

One of the beautiful stories from the PEOPLE Festival is Tommy’s. His manager reached out just a week before the festival, since Tommy was in town, finding his way. We gave him a spontaneous “yes,” even though the artists list was already completely full. What Tommy made of the PEOPLE week is a dream come true. Whenever we ran into him during the week, we connected him with others or shared an idea. He said yes to everything. He ended up playing many shows with so many people, from his beautiful performance in the Folk Circle in Saal 1, in the image above, to the final rendition of “Fake Empire” with The National. Only afterward did we find out that he’s in a The National and Bon Iver fan club in Ghana, where they get together every once in a while to sing their songs. What a beautiful journey and what a wonderful person!

We’ll be welcoming him back for a “Live in the Lobby” session tomorrow (Nov. 4) at 7 PM, and we invite all of you to join us.
