Rubblebucket: Tiki Taka Half-Time Show #1
It’s Tiki Taka Half-Time!
For Part 1, this Monday (23 June) evening we welcome Rubblebucket to play.
This seven-piece band can be considered a full orchestra of sounds: a mix of synths, guitars, harmonies, horns, vocals and saxophones. And just as their sound is such a mixture, so to their music influences cannot be defined. Psychedelic rock, reggae, dance, dub and electro all feature there.
These guys are surrounded by great people from the music scene: their first album was produced by Eric Broucek (LCD Soundsystem, !!!, Holy Ghost!), and they have collaborated with tUnE yArDs and Questlove for a Fela Kuti compilation.
Their upcoming full-length album Survival Sounds is produced and mixed by John Congleton (well known for his work for St. Vincent and David Bryne). They’ve been working on it for over a year and it’s finally ready for official release on August 26th.
They said about it: “it pretty much contains every scrap of soul, blood, sweat and tears we could possibly muster.”
Definitely a good reason to be looking forward to it!
From 8 pm.
