What’s Happened
Tiki Taka × Magnus Reid × Rita’s × NTS Radio
Friday and Saturday (13/14 June) at Tiki Taka has got an East London flavour!
Young, upcoming chef Magnus Reid will be cooking in our kitchen in both evenings.
Magnus trained as a tattooist – experimenting on any available flesh – before turning to his passion for food and drink, making his way into the food scene via some of London’s most creditable and experimental bars, pop-ups and restaurants. In just three short years, he has run the Hackney Pearl, created The Rooftop Cafe at the Shard, and recently opened The Tuckshop in Shoreditch. Magnus also acts as a consultant for multiple East London establishments and is in pre-production for his debut TV show with Jamie Oliver’s Fresh One Productions.

Missy and Deano from Rita’s will be with us bringing their very own tequila party to the courtyard, serving up drinks including their signature frozen margarita which has become a staple at the restaurant.
Rita’s began as a pop-up restaurant in East London. Founded by a group of friends, the menu is as varied as their personalities, showcasing what the group set out to present as simply ‘the best bar food they could think of’.
Signature dishes such as the famous buttermilk fried chicken roll became standout but the restaurant menu has now evolved from bar food, maintaining the ethos of simple, good quality well made dishes.
Head Chef Gabriel Pryce, after a five year stint working in NYC brings his interests in both classic American fare and the food from more far flung reaches so readily available in such a city to the menu and style of food created at Rita’s, Adapting these influences to working with fantastic suppliers and seasonal, English produce along with the skill and experience Jackson Boxer and newest addition to the Rita’s family, Andrew Clarke (previously of Salt Yard).
You can read a review of Rita’s here and watch this short film about them from Hypebeast:
They’ll also recreate the fun, laid-back, eclectic music vibe of the ‘Rita’s experience with their friends from London-based radio station NTS.
NTS Radio is one of the references for online community-based radio and though locally oriented, they have a global audience thanks to their diverse range of shows and progressive programming.
